Do Stars Prove the Bible Wrong?

I recently finished producing a short film about the age of stars. Do Stars Prove the Bible Wrong? addresses the apparent contradiction of stars vs. the Bible, and offers a Biblical solution.

Most stars are millions of light-years away, which means it takes millions of years for the starlight to reach us on earth. However, the Bible teaches that God created everything (including stars) about six-thousand years ago. How do we solve this contradiction? Is the Bible wrong? Is science wrong?

There is an answer to the dilemma...and it's right in the Bible too. In the video, I give a brief overview of biblical clues which point to the answer. Yes, the Bible is still trustworthy! It is the Word of God!

Our Trip to Florida, Part 4: The Trip Home

A major highlight of our trip was when we stopped to visit friends in Powder Springs, Georgia, during the drive home. We visited the headquarters of Valor Visual Media, a Christian filmmaking company run by personal friends of mine. They have produced an excellent film called Remember Alabama, which documents the life and trials of Roy Moore, the former Chief Justice of Alabama. I highly recommend the film to anyone that wants to know the true story surrounding the famous Ten Commandments monument and lawsuits.

Nathaniel Darnell, one of Valor's media directors, gave me a tour of the facility, which includes an office, studio, and screening room. Valor Visual Media is currently producing a film for Vision Forum which will be used in promoting the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival. I am pleased to count Nathaniel as a friend and colleague.

Our Trip to Florida, Part 2: Edison and a Manatee

During our stay in Florida, we decided to travel further south to Fort Meyers, to visit the Thomas Edison museum and laboratory. The museum is across the street from Edison's winter home (which is next to Henry Ford's winter home). On the museum property, sits what may be the world's largest banyan tree. It is very large! Sorry, I don't have any pictures of it.

What a disappointment to find that the museum was closed because of hurricane damage! I didn't see much damage there, but there was certainly a lot of damage other places...from last year! Many businesses had signs destroyed and roofs torn off. It was sobering to view it.

Since we couldn't go to the museum, we had to adjust our plans. We chose to visit the Lee County Manatee Park. Though we didn't see any manatees, I'm glad we went! While there, we attended an outdoor presentation about manatees. My family was the only one in attendance. The woman who gave the presentation told us all about the manatees: where they live, what they eat, etc. However, she also told us that manatees once walked on land and have been in existence for 50 million years! Absurdity of the highest degree!

My mother knew that we must not keep silent; she prompted my brother Shad and I to respectfully share the truth of Creation with the woman. We all ended up saying a few words to help this woman see things from a different perspective. She was very open to listening and discussing creation vs. evolution with us. I gave her some web URLs so she could search on her own. I don't know what her response will be nor if she will be convicted by the truth and receive Jesus Christ as her Savior, but I do know that some good seeds were sown on that day. If the Lord will send others to water, and if He gives the increase, perhaps I will see this woman in Heaven someday! What a glorious harvest that would be!

Our Trip to Florida, Part 1: The Journey

Greetings from Florida! As I write this, I am not at my usual home computer location. I am currently visiting relatives in Florida! My, how the hot weather here is a stark contrast to the chilly November weather I am accustomed to in Pennsylvania! We lived in Florida many years ago. In fact, I was born there, but now we live way up north.

My Mother's parents and almost all her siblings live in Florida, mostly in the Sarasota area. My parents, brothers, and I are down here now to visit these relations. I am pleased to see my Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins once again!

My Grandparents

Packing for a big trip like this is always a tough job. Well, actually, the tough part is packing the van with all of our bags and luggage. It takes some real organizational genius to pull it off, but we seem to manage every time!

Our drive down was quite an experience. My Mother made a scavenger hunt game for us to play on the way down. She gave us a list of things to find while we drove and we would mark down the items as we saw them. Some of the things on the list included: wind mill, wagon wheel, horse, cow, palm tree, fire hydrant, church steeple, tractor, and many more. It was very enjoyable and challenging! Shad was the first to complete the list and win.

We left Monday morning and drove into the night. Dad and I took turns with the driving. One would sleep while the other drove. There were only a few times when we both needed to sleep at the same time. The longest stop we made was about three hours. It's difficult to drive for that long, but we made it safely.

Yesterday, we stopped to look at our old house in Sarasota. The people that live there now were kind enough to give us some grapefruit from our old grapefruit tree. We plan to take them home and use the seeds to grow our own tree back home in PA (indoors).

There is much more to this trip which is currently in progress, but it'll have to wait until later. I'll write more and post some photos in the days to come!
